About Me

My effectiveness as a psychologist is deeply rooted in my life experiences, and values. Growing up in a working-class household, I learned the importance of resilience, hard work, and empathy. My background shaped my understanding of struggle and perseverance, allowing me to connect with clients who face adversity. I know what it feels like to navigate challenges with limited resources, which gives me a deep appreciation for the diverse experiences of those I work with. From an early age, I also felt different from my peers—whether in my thoughts, perspectives, or sense of identity. This feeling of being an outsider cultivated my ability to think critically about diversity and inclusion. It made me acutely aware of the ways in which individuals may feel misunderstood or unseen, and as a psychologist, I prioritise creating a space where people feel truly heard and valued.

Authenticity is one of the core values that guide my work. I believe that genuine connection fosters trust, and I strive to bring my whole self into my interactions with clients. I understand that healing and self-discovery thrive in environments where people feel safe to be their true selves. I have a creative side to my self as well as my practice. Whether it's thinking outside the box when helping clients reframe their challenges or incorporating expressive techniques, my ability to approach problems from multiple angles enhances the therapeutic process. Creativity in my personal life comes in the form of painting, to ground me, but also serve as a form of self-expression. Engaging with art helps me process emotions, tap into deeper insights, and connect with the importance of nonverbal expression—something I often integrate into my work with clients who struggle to articulate their emotions.

My personal journey has given me a unique perspective that strengthens my ability to help others. I hope to bring a balance of empathy, authenticity, creativity, and resilience into my work, allowing me to meet each person where they are while helping them move toward meaningful change.

EXPERIENCE

MY APPROACH

I have been working in mental health settings for 9 years, and have been fortunate enough to work privately and within the NHS. My current specialty is informed by my training and my current NHS role working within a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), however I have also worked closely with adults, couples and families. Throughout my experience, I have always been in awe of how brave people are coming into a space to think about their stories. I have been greatly influenced by psychodynamic and systemic thinkers, and it leads me to navigate conversations in this way.

I have worked with diverse populations, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, such as anixety, depression, psychosis and trauma. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from various modalities to best meet the needs of my clients.

Within our first conversations, we will arrive at an understanding of where you want to be and what is not currently serving you in your life.

We can think together about what you would like and how that could be achieved, whether you are reaching out for yourself, are looking for consultation, or a reflective space for your organisation.

My approach is explorative, contemplative and curious, yet goal-orientated to make sure you are working towards something that feels worthwhile.
